Latvia's National Electronic Mass Media Council (NEPLP) ordered ISPs to block VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and other Russian social networks in May 2022 due to EU sanctions on their owners (Yury Kovalchuk and Vladimir Kiriyenko).

Yandex

Latvia's NEPLP, which had already blocked VKontakte and Odnoklassniki, restricted access to Yandex's homepage in April 2022 over war disinformation, then expanded the block to all Yandex domains (including Yandex Music) in December 2023 citing content tied to EU-sanctioned individuals.
