Albania

As countries closely aligning their foreign policy with the European Union, they have implemented restrictions matching the EU's comprehensive ban on RT broadcasting and distribution.

Australia

RT was never banned by law in Australia. SBS suspended its RT bulletins and Foxtel dropped the channel in February 2022, both carriage decisions by the broadcasters themselves. The website remains reachable.

Ukraine

Banned alongside other Russian state media after the annexation of Crimea and blocked at ISP level under sanctions decrees renewed since 2017. OONI recorded anomalies or confirmed blockpages in roughly 85% of Ukrainian measurements of rt.com.

United Kingdom

Ofcom revoked RT's broadcast licence in March 2022. Separately, sanctions regulations in force since 29 April 2022 designate TV-Novosti and require internet access providers to take reasonable steps to block rt.com, on penalty of up to GBP 1m. Enforcement is uneven: the blocks are DNS-level, not every provider applies them, and no provider has faced action, so the site is still reachable on many networks.

United States of America

Major private providers dropped RT America in 2022, forcing it to cease operations. Furthermore, US tech giants have independently banned or restricted RT globally on their platforms. The US government also requires RT to register as a foreign agent under FARA.
