Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2022-68 removed RT and RT France from the list of non-Canadian services authorised for distribution, so Canadian television providers may no longer carry them. The measure covers broadcast carriage only; rt.com itself is not blocked and OONI measurements from Canada record no interference.

Enforcement is uneven: the blocks are DNS-level, not every provider applies them, and no provider has faced action, so the site is still reachable on many networks.
Major private providers dropped RT America in 2022, forcing it to cease operations. Furthermore, US tech giants have independently banned or restricted RT globally on their platforms. The US government also requires RT to register as a foreign agent under FARA.
